A Lacy Sunday

So far in Dallas, fall has come and then it has left again. But thankfully, a cold front came through again this weekend so we have another taste of my favorite season. Of course in Dallas, fall means even 82 degrees and warm sunshine. But I’ll take what I can get.

We spent our afternoon at this wonderful park right in the heart of downtown. It is two city blocks of green, trees, lots of games and benches and places to just sit and relax. We played Checkers and Connect Four, and then Jenga—the only game I sort of won. I am learning that I have to play a game of pure luck if I ever have any hope of beating my husband.

This was our view from the table. I just love the concept of a park in the middle of a city.

These kids were having the time of their lives in the fountain. What a great mom they must have to let them get their nice clothes soaked.

The park also boasts a host of food trucks that come around lunchtime for a few hours each day. We couldn’t help ourselves and split an ice cream sandwich from one of the food trucks. Toasted almond nutella ice cream between two chocolate chip cookies. Welcome, fall. We’re happy to have you.
